Janessa Ferrell

Janessa is a former elementary teacher, literacy specialist, and EdTech product manager who is passionate about motivating young readers. She has a Bachelors of Education, a Graduate Degree in Reading Instruction, and a Product Leader Certificate. She is a highly-motivated, driven, and creative person who likes to think and act ‘outside of the box’.

For the past 20 years, she has been helping children overcome challenges and develop a love of reading. Building on her experiences both inside and outside the classroom, she strives to use evidence-based practices to create engaging reading experiences that delight children and improve their outcomes. She believes that every child has the right to a quality education, and she fights against inequality.

Janessa lives in Prince Edward Island, Canada with her husband and three children. As a busy entrepreneur and mother, she values efficiency, radical candor, and kindness. Some of her favorite things to do are; explore new areas of the world, paddleboard, chill out on the beach with a good book, and make new friends. Her idea of a good time is a themed costume party.
